Congratulations to the students of Room 16 for earning the *most* points in Special during September! Our class earned more points than any other 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade class! As a reward, our class will receive a free ice cream treat next week! Way to go!
I can’t believe that October is already here! September really flew by! As we enter October, I wanted to remind you of some upcoming dates. On October 5, we will have our 1st Wilmington Manor Excellence Assembly at 1:30 pm. Congratulations to Scott & Britney for representing our class! The following week, students will not have school on Thursday, Oct. 11 or Friday, Oct. 12, as they are teacher inservice days. I will send home an October newsletter with an attached calendar so that parents will have a hard copy of upcoming events to remember.
Also, check out the new tab “Spelling & Vocab Words.” This tab will allow you to access our spelling and vocabulary words for the week! Remember that students should be working on at least a page per night, as Spelling Packets are due each Friday.

Hello!
As we settle in to September, I wanted to post a few hints & reminders. I have created a tab titled “Math Games,” which has the rules to Capture 5 and Collect $2.00. Your child learned and played these games in class and will need to remember the rules for future math lessons. I have also updated the “Homework” tab to include this week’s homework. Many students forgot to bring home their reading books last Monday, so I will be sure to check that every child has their books to read at home this week. Please remember to sign your child’s agenda so that I know you are aware of their assignments. Finally, check the Wilmington Manor blog for upcoming dates to remember, such as School Pictures (9/20). Our class will have pictures taken at 11:05am (an early slot!).

Room 16
WOW! What a fun first day of school! It was great to see so many smiling faces this morning. As promised, I have updated my page with information for parents. Just click on the links listed on the toolbar above and access August (a list of forms for parents to sign and return & supplies needed), the Class Schedule, and Room 16’s Special Schedule (remember sneakers on Wednesdays and Fridays!).
Next week, I will also add a homework link to the toolbar so that everyone is aware of the assignments. Stay tuned!

It’s almost that time again! The new school year at Wilmington Manor Elementary is right around the corner! On Tuesday, August 21st, everyone is encouraged to attend the informal walk through from 3:30-6:00. This opportunity allows students to find their classrooms and ease their first day jitters. (My 3rd grade classroom is Room 16). The first day of school for the 2007-2008 school year is Wednesday, August 22nd.
